Chairman of the LOGO e.V. Union Hartwig Mennen shared   with  the possibilities for  practice  in Germany.

Today, the Chairman of the LOGO e.V. Union Hartwig Mennen visited M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University.  Dr. Hartwig Mennen met with the leadership of the university, where the vice-rector of research and innovation – Ulanbator Suleimenov told about ambitions, achievements,  that all conditions are provided for obtaining an appropriate education at the university. He also added,  that within the transformation of the university into a research university, great attention is paid to the field of science and research,  that our university intends to actively cooperate with LOGO e.V.
At the meeting, Dr. Hartwig Mennen noted,  that the LOGO e.V. Union trained students in the field of agriculture for last 30 years. In the results, about 4,500 students have completed an internship in Germany and received certificates.
Also were discussed issues on requirements and security measures for students, visa issues during the meeting with the students of the Agrarian Faculty.  Dr. H. Mennen has presented information on seminars, practices in farms and universities in Germany and online courses in the field of agriculture,  such  students will receive certificates which recognized by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany in the end of the practice.  The meeting was closed  with   questions and answers section.

May 29, 2022 – Official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Pakistan to M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University

On May 29, 2022, the delegation of the Republic of Pakistan, consisting of Prof. Dr. Syed Khurshid Hasanain – Adviser COMSTECH Secretariat, Syed Nomanul Haq – Doctor, Professor University of Management and
Technology (UMT), Muhammad Murtaza Noor – Adviser Media; Linkages to Coordinator General COMSTECH Secretariat, Doctor Muhammad Khalid Masud – Member of Shariat Appellate Bench Supreme Court of Pakistan, Doctor Mustapha Sheikh – Associate Professor of Islamic Thought and Muslim Societies Director of Arabic, Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies Co-Director of the Iqbal Centre for Critical Muslim Studies Arabic, Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies School of Languages, Cultures and Societies,Sofia Rehman – Doctor of the University Leeds (Great Britain), Sayyid Muhammad Farid- Professor, doctor, Director Centre for Iqbal Studies, University of the Punjab (Pakistan) paid an official visit to M. Auezov South
Kazakhstan University.

During the visit, the foreign delegation met with the leadership of the university, where the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in education and science with leading universities in Pakistan. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to combine efforts to implement the set tasks to develop partnerships in priority areas of education and research on mutually beneficial terms.

Within the framework of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Pakistan an exhibition of scientific achievements on the theme; Vectors of integration of university science in the regional economy; with the participation of leading scientists and teachers of M. Auezov SKU was presented. The participants of the exhibition demonstrated to the guests the scientific achievements, which were implemented in the development of the city of Shymkent and the Southern region.

       

May 17, 2022 – Official visit of the Ambassador of Indonesia to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan Dr. Mohamad Fajrul Rahman at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University

On May 17, 2022, a delegation of the Indonesian Embassy in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan headed by Ambassador Mohamad Fajrul Rahman paid an official visit to M.Auezov South Kazakhstan university. During the visit, a foreign delegation met with the Chairman of the Board-Rector of   M. Auezov SKU Kozhamzharova Daria, where the Parties discussed issues and prospects for further expansion of cooperation between the universities of Indonesia and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the Parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of academic mobility of students and teachers, attracting scientists for guest lectures and developing joint educational programs.

          

 

May 16, 2022 – Visit of delegations from the Bukhara Engineering and Technical Institute and

Abu Ali ibn Sino

Bukhara State Medical Institute  (Republic of Uzbekistan)

On May 16, 2022, a meeting was held at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan university with a delegation of the Bukhara Engineering and Technical Institute and Abu Ali ibn Sino Bukhara State Medical Institute (Republic of Uzbekistan).

During the meeting, the parties exchanged the results of bilateral cooperation in priority areas of training and outlined the prospects for further development of the collaboration of science in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

At this meeting, a solemn presentation of the diploma of an honorary professor and the badge “Avicenna” of Abu Ali ibn Sino Bukhara State Medical Institute  to the Chairman of the Board – Rector of M.Auezov SKU D. Kozhamzharova took place for significant merits and invaluable contribution to the development of international cooperation between universities. Also, the department “Biotechnology” represented by the head of the department Alpamysova G.B. was awarded with the badge “Avicenna”. and Professor Kedelbaev B.Sh. for his contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation.

          

April 11, 2022 – Visit of the Public Relations Officer of the US Consulate General in Almaty to

M. Auezov

South Kazakhstan University

On April 11, 2022, a delegation consisting of Public Relations Officer of the US Consulate General in Almaty-Ananda Krishna and Information Assistant Kamshat Toleulieva paid an official visit to M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.

The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the activities of the university. During the meeting, participants from SKU shared the results of joint projects with the University of Minnesota “Integration of the English language in the pedagogy of higher education: a partnership between M. Auezov  South Kazakhstan University  (SKU) and the University of Minnesota” and Rutgers University, which are funded under the project “Establishment of a Partnership Program in the field of green nanotechnologies and environmental sensing between Rutgers University (USA) and Auezov South Kazakhstan University”.

During the visit, Anand Krishna gave a guest lecture on “US Foreign Policy and Public Diplomacy” for students of the departments of “International Relations and International Law” and “Modern Languages and Translation Studies”, at the end of the lecture, students received answers to their questions and exchanged views on topic under discussion.

       

April 7, 2022 — Visit of the delegation of Kazan Federal University (Russian Federation) to Auezov University

On April 7, 2022, a delegation of Kazan Federal University (Russian Federation) consisting of Vice-Rector for International Relations Alishev Timirkhan Bulatovich and Advisor to the Rector for Central Asia Azimov Rashit Murazamovich paid an official visit to M. Auezov South Kazakhstan university  . The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the activities of the university and discuss issues of cooperation in priority areas of education and science.

The first vice-rector of M.Auezov SKU   Nurmanbetov K.E. made a welcoming speech and Vice-Rector for International Relations of KFU Alishev T.B., during the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of academic mobility of students and teachers, attracting foreign scientists for guest lectures, developing joint educational programs and conducting joint scientific research. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to join efforts to implement the tasks set based on the results of today’s discussion.

During the visit of the KFU delegation, an exhibition of scientific achievements was presented on the topic “Vectors of integration of university science into the economy of the region” with the participation of leading scientists and teachers of M. Auezov SKU. Recall that Kazan Federal University is a higher educational institution in Kazan, one of the oldest Russian universities (founded in 1804) and one of ten federal universities (since 2010).

         

April 26, 2022 – Visit of the delegation of the Kazan Federal University (Russian Federation to M. Auezov SKU

On April 6, 2022, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan university was visited by a delegation of Kazan Federal University (Russian Federation) consisting of acting Rector of  Kazan Federal university Tayursky Dmitry  and Advisor to the Rector for Central Asia Azimov Rashit Murazamovich. The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the activities of the university and discuss issues of cooperation in priority areas of education and science.

Welcoming remarks were made by the Chairman of the Board-Rector of   M.Auezov SKU Kozhamzharova D. and acting Rector of Kazan Federal University Tayursky Dmitry. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in areas of research, opening new areas of training students, opening more than 10 double degree programs, expanding academic mobility of teaching staff and students, etc., this cooperation will further build an innovative platform for the collaboration of scientists.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to join efforts to implement the tasks set based on the results of today’s discussion. As a result of the negotiations, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Kazan Federal University and M. Auezov South Kazakhstan university .

During the visit of the KFU delegation, an exhibition of scientific achievements was presented on the topic “Vectors of integration of university science into the economy of the region” with the participation of leading scientists and teachers of M. Auezov SKU . The participants of the exhibition demonstrated to the guests the scientific achievements that have been introduced into the development of the Southern region, and a survey visit was also organized to the Research Institutes and Laboratories of M. Auezov SKU.

         

April 18 – 22, 2022 – participation of M. Auezov SKU  in the annual 66th CIES conference – 2022 (Comparative and International Education Society) Illuminating the Power of Idealism in Minneapolis, Minnesota

From April 18 to 22, 2022, M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University (SKU) for the first time took part in the annual 66th conference CIES – 2022 (Comparative and International Education Society)Illuminating the Power of Idealism in Minneapolis, Minnesota with the support of the partner university of the University of Minnesota College of Education and Human Development (USA).  Within the framework of the conference in the section from Eurasia, the Director of the  International Cooperation Centre Turymshayeva Arida  and the Head of the Department “Modern Languages and Translation Studies” Karbozova Gulnara  acted as moderators and speakers.

In the framework of the section “Collaborative partnership in an international context: Lessons from USA and Kazakhstan” and “University partnerships during COVID 19: What made it work?” the participants of the SKU presented reports on the results of the joint project “Integration of the English language in higher education pedagogy: partnership between M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University and University of Minnesota”, which was carried out with the support of the American Council of International Education grant program partnerships of universities in the USA and Kazakhstan in 2021.

Also, as part of the trip, the delegation from SKU visited the College of Education and Human Development of the University of Minnesota in order to get acquainted with the activities of the university and discuss the prospects of partnership cooperation.

Into consideration, CIES – (Comparative and International Education Society) is one of the leading conferences in the field of education, which is held annually in the USA with the participation of 3,000 well-known scientists, experts, researchers from 110 countries of the world.

 

          

November 11, 2021 — The official visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to the Republic of Kazakhstan Koo Hong-seok at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University

On November 11, 2021, a delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to the Republic of Kazakhstan Koo Hong-seok and Second Secretary Kim Won- Young paid an official visit at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University within the framework of public diplomacy. During the visit, the foreign delegation met with the Chairman of the Board Rector of M.Auezov SKU, Darya Kozhamzharova, where the Parties discussed issues and prospects for further strengthening cooperation in the field of cultural and humanitarian ties. During the visit, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Koo Hong-seok, gave a lecture on the topic “Vision for the Korean Peninsula Peace Process: towards an end of war declaration” for students of international relations, international tourism and service, and the Korean language.
During the lecture, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to the Republic of Kazakhstan Koo Hong-seok noted that for Korea, Kazakhstan is not only an important country contributing to the consolidation of peace on the Korean peninsula, but also a mutually beneficial partner in the trade and economic sphere, including energy resources, construction, healthcare, information technology. One of the distinctive characteristics of the relations between our countries is the presence of strong cultural and humanitarian ties. Having experience of rapid economic development, the Republic of Korea intends to contribute to the development of cooperation with universities of Kazakhstan in relevant areas of education and science. 
       

May 27, 2021 — Visit of QS Quacquarelli Symonds Regional Director for Central Asia and Eastern Europe Sergey Vladimirovich Khristolyubov

Today, on May 27, 2021, Sergey Vladimirovich Khristolyubov, QS Regional Director for Central Asia and Eastern Europe, paid an official visit to M. Auezov South Kazakhstan university . During the visit, a meeting was held with the leadership of the university headed by the Chairman of the Board-Rector of M. Auezov SKU Daria Kozhamzharova with the regional director of QS for Central Asia and Eastern Europe Sergey Khristolubov, where issues of cooperation between the university and the QS company were discussed: organization of joint events, including a field event within the framework of the Council of Rectors and holding various seminars, participation in the QS Stars program and other key areas of development of M. Auezov SKU for promotion in international ratings.

During the negotiations, the issues of effective development of the university, expansion of partnerships, use of a network of scientific partners through QS, development of joint research and laboratories were also considered.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the heads of the department and scientists of M. Auezov SKU , during which Sergey Khristolyubov demonstrated the university’s achievements and opportunities for further development.

Following the meeting, Sergey Khristolyubov gave several recommendations for further promotion in world rankings and highly appreciated the work done by the university to develop internationalization in the framework of attracting foreign students.

       

May 7, 2021 — Visit of the delegation of the University of Arizona (USA)

On May 7, 2021, a delegation from the University of Arizona (USA) headed by Vice-Rector for Global Affairs White Brent Thomas officially visited  Auezov South Kazakhstan university. Within the framework of the meeting, the prospects of cooperation were discussed in the field of joint training of students for double degree programs and opening  for  campus of   University of Arizona at M.Auezov SKU. During the meeting, the foreign delegation met with the leadership of the university and representatives of the Higher school of chemical engineering and biotechnology and  Higher school of textile and food engineering. This event is the beginning of the development on cooperation, which will serve as a good foundation for strengthening bilateral partnerships between RK and US universities.

                           

November 18, 2021 – Closing meeting on the closing of the American Council grant within the framework of the project “Integration of English in the pedagogy of higher education: a partnership between the South Kazakhstan University. M. Auezov (SKU) and the University of Minnesota”

The following departments of Physics, Informatics and the Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies took part in this project.

On the final day, the University of Minnesota team held a meeting with teachers and participants of the joint project, where in the Brainstorm format they discussed the prospects for further cooperation in partnership with the University of Minnesota and the Bolashak International Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the end of the meeting, the project participants were awarded recognition certificates from the University of Minnesota as part of the successful completion of the joint project, which was carried out in 2021.

    

November 16, 2021 — Visit of the delegation of the University of Minnesota (USA)

On November 16, 2021, a delegation from the University of Minnesota of USA in the following composition visited M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University on an official visit: Christopher Johnston – Associate Professor, director of Master’s and doctoral programs of the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development, Marina Aleixo – Director of International Initiatives and Relations of the College of Education and Human Development, Laura Karabassova – Rector of Zhubanov University, PhD, project participant, Elizabeth Orr – Doctoral student of the University of Minnesota, Zhuldyz Amankulova – Doctoral student of Bolashak program  of the University of Minnesota. The purpose of the visit is to hold final meetings on the closing of the American Council grant within the framework of the project “Integration of English in higher education pedagogy: partnership between M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University (SKU) and the University of Minnesota”. During the visit, a delegation from the University of Minnesota met with the Chairman of the Board-Rector of M.Auezov SKU, D. Kozhamzharova  and discussed  perspectives  to implement further bilateral cooperation in topical areas of research and education.

At the first project day,  at the meeting for  partnership assessment  members of delegation met with the participants of the project, where   Departments of Physics,  Informatics and Modern languages and translation studies shared with experience and obtained results on the English teaching for STEM disciplines.

During the meeting, American experts  noted that through  mutual cooperation and mutual understanding between  the University of Minnesota and  M. Auezov South Kazakhstan university the project was served as a successful model of interuniversity cooperation between two countries on  jointly initiated opportunities for professional development for  SKU. In spite of  many interactions and professional development activities took place during  restrictions due to COVID-19, this project became a model for the successful construction and implementation of partnerships in the online format.

Recall that the main goal of this project is to improve the pedagogical skills and abilities of teachers of SKU. Auezov for the successful and effective integration of the English language into curricula in the direction of STEM disciplines and the preparation of English-speaking teachers to integrate the studied academic content into the curricula being taught.

Having experience of rapid economic development, the Republic of Korea intends to contribute to the development of cooperation with universities of Kazakhstan in relevant areas of education and science.

For reference: In 2018, M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University together with Sangmyung University in Cheonan, with the support of the King Sejong Foundation, the King Sejong Institute was opened on the basis of M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University. The opening of the Center testifies to the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of education and culture at the level of the two countries. Currently, 135 students at the King Sejong Institute study Korean free of charge, of which 64 are students of our university. The courses are taught by 3 native speakers, certified teachers of Sangmyung University. Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, 3 students of M. Auezov SKU were trained in the framework of academic mobility. Since the academic year 2020-2021, Korean language has been opened as a second language at the Department of “Modern Languages and Translation Studies” on the specialty “Foreign Language”. To date, 78 students are studying in this specialty. Leading teachers of Sangmyung University were invited to teach Korean, both in the traditional form and in the form of virtual attraction.

 

 

       

October 22, 2020 – Visit of the delegation of the Goethe-Institut to Kazakhstan

October 22, 2020 M. Auezov  South Kazakhstan university  was visited by a delegation headed by the Head of the Language Department of the Goethe Institute in Kazakhstan David Hartl and the Head of the Information / Library Department of the Goethe Institute in Kazakhstan – Sholpan Kyzaybayeva. During the visit of the delegation, a meeting was held with the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization Iskakova Aigul, where the parties exchanged views and proposals on the further development and strengthening of cooperation between M. Auezov SKU and German universities.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the preparation of students and teachers of the German language. Also discussed were issues of attracting German teachers to conduct seminars and trainings for teachers and students of M. Auezov SKU , opening language classes at the Goethe Institute for conducting German language courses and exams for knowledge of the German language and establishing cooperation in the field of education and science of  SKU with German partner universities.

In turn, the head of the information / library department of the Goethe Institute in Kazakhstan added that the Goethe Institute operates an Info Center / Library whose activity is to provide up-to-date information about the cultural, social and political life of Germany, in addition to this, the extensive fund of reference and periodical literature of the library provides up-to-date materials and interactive developments for learning and teaching the German language.

       

September 10, 2020 – Arizona State University delegation visit

On September 10, 2020, a delegation from the Arizona State university (USA) arrived at M. Auezov SKU . The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the activities of the university, discuss issues of cooperation in the field of education and science. In particular, a comprehensive discussion is underway with the University of Arizona on the program of double-degree education, academic mobility, internships at this university for faculty, as well as opening representative offices of foreign universities in the country.

         

March 3, 2020 – Meeting of representatives of the European Union

On March 3, 2020, a delegation of Ambassadors of the European Union Member States visited M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State university   with a cluster visit. During the visit, a meeting was held with the leadership and students, as well as familiarization with the activities and achievements of the university. The meeting of the Ambassadors with the students was held in the Ambassador Cafe format.

For reference: Ambassador Cafe is a kind of information platform where the ambassadors of the Member States of the European Union meet with young people in an informal setting.

The informal atmosphere of such meetings allows, in the most convenient format, to “compare watches” on topical issues of bilateral cooperation between the European Union and Kazakhstan, the EU’s regional approach to world geopolitics.

 M. Auezov SKSU  actively implements the parameters of the Bologna process, has more than 180 international agreements with partner universities, within which more than 100 students annually study under the academic mobility program, participation in the Erasmus program, organization of summer and winter schools, incoming and outgoing foreign practice and internships for students and teaching staff.
